The effect of Video on Learning of Anamnesis Skill in Musculoskeletal System Block

ABSTRACT Competency-based Curriculum(CBC) using method of Problem Based Learning (PBL) has been implemented in the Faculty of Medicine, Islamic University of Indonesia since 2005,including one block of musculoskeletal system. To improve the quality of learning in FK UII especially in block musculoskeletal system needs to be done with the instructional media such as video. It has been done for making instructional videos through project grants PKPD (HPEQ) entitled Islamic Insert on Anamnesis of Musculoskelatal System. Video was made in three parts covering history taking in clinical settings (physician practices), the lege artis of anamnesis with Islamic insert and anamnesis in setting of OSCE exam. The purpose of this instructional video is to improve the quality of anamnesis skill, especially in block musculoskeletal system. This video is very useful as teaching media. It can be used in student self-directed learning to be independent so that it can enhance the point of anamnesis skills not only in numbers but also on Islamic values. When compared the result of anamnesis in the block of musculoskeletal system between academic year 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 before and after the video available looked passing rates increased from 76% to 79% and the average point of the OSCE exam results rised from 72.5 to 76.85. Numbers of student who have scored above 75 become 75%. Thus the instructional video was very helpful in learning skills related case of musculoskeletal block system.
